Here, you don’t have to explain or defend who you are. You get to simply be — and be supported.
Therapy should be a place where all of you is welcome. For LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples, that isn’t always a given. Too many people have experienced therapists who didn’t understand their lives, needed educating about their identities, or subtly treated who they are as the problem to be solved.
My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, and it has been throughout my 19 years of work. That means your identity is never the pathology. Whether you’re coming to therapy for something related to your identity — coming out, family rejection, internalized shame, gender exploration, minority stress — or something entirely unrelated, like anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship struggles, you’ll find a space that is safe, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming.
How I can help
Affirming support for your whole story. We can work through the unique stressors LGBTQIA+ people carry — discrimination, family estrangement, religious wounds, the exhaustion of navigating a world that isn’t always kind — as well as everything else life brings.
Coming out and identity exploration. At your pace, on your terms, with no agenda but your own clarity and wellbeing.
Healing internalized shame. Messages absorbed over a lifetime can turn inward.
Together we’ll untangle what you were taught to believe about yourself from what’s actually true.
Relationship and couples work. I welcome LGBTQIA+ couples, including those in open and non-monogamous relationships, with the same respect and skill I bring to all couples work.
You deserve a therapist who celebrates who you are. I’d be honored to be that person.
Living life passionately without limitations and regrets from the past intruding into today and tomorrow is the path to happiness and freedom.
